New Volvo XC60 facelift scheduled for Malaysian launch on Nov 25

Volvo Car Malaysia has just confirmed today through its Facebook page that the new facelifted Volvo XC60 range will be officially launched in Malaysia. The mid-sized premium SUV with both regular and plug-in hybrid powertrain options will be officially launched on November 25th over a digital broadcast event scheduled at 11:00 A.M.

The facelifted Volvo XC60 made its global debut in March this year and unlike the other premium automakers, the styling changes are very inconspicuous. The grille and bumpers upfront receive subtle styling refinements, with the rear bumper now completely devoid of exhaust outlets.

Inside, the driver’s instrument cluster has been upgraded to a fully digital unit measuring 12 inches. However, the key headlining feature of the new Volvo XC60 is the Android-powered infotainment system featuring a host of built-in Google apps such as Google Assistant, Google Maps and more. A wireless smartphone charging pad is also expected to be included.

Similar to the earlier page on the registry-of-interest, no new information regarding the powertrain has been revealed. It is said to have been further improved for range and efficiency.

Expect the prices to be kept at similar levels with the outgoing models, with the Volvo XC60 T5 Momentum priced at approx. RM279k while the plug-in hybrid Recharge T8 Inscription Plus at approx. RM325k. Interested to get a sales consultant to contact you on the new Volvo XC60? Submit your information at the registry-of-interest page, linked here.

The new facelifted Volvo XC60 is the third model launch for the company in Malaysia after introducing the Volvo XC40 Recharge T5 and the Volvo S90 Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid models.

Late in 2020, VCM also announced the extension of the warranty coverage for the hybrid batteries in all of its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles to eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first. Recently, VCM also welcomed Charles Frump in August as its new Managing Director, succeeding Nalin Jain.

The launch of the new Volvo XC60 will be available on Volvo Car Malaysia’s Facebook page.
