The 2022 Mazda CX-60 with the inline-six engine caught completely uncovered!

Fully uncovered videos like this rarely occur, so this could well be staged or just a lack of security at the shooting location. Right after unveiling the 2023 Mazda CX-50 for the North American market, a video has emerged on Youtube revealing the upcoming Mazda CX-60.

Uploaded by CSK Review Channel, the pair of completely undisguised new Mazda CX-60 in white and red were caught in action for a production of a commercial or internal company video. Design-wise, the front resembles all current-generation Mazda designs, with a large grille and wings that flow into the headlamps.

When viewed from the side, the window surround and D-pillar strongly follow the form of the latest Mazda CX-50. The body-coloured wheel arches and lower body panels remind of us the facelifted Mazda CX-5. However, a point of interest is the size of the front fender and the accompanying decorative trim.

Mazda, together with Subaru and Toyota are teaming up to keep the combustion engines relevant across the globe. Find out how here!

The distance between the front wheels to the front doors look a lot longer than the existing SUV models, even compared to the larger Mazda CX-8 and CX-9 models. Analysis by drive.com.au pointed out that this longer ‘axle-to-dash’ ratio confirms that the powertrain is mounted longitudinally or front-to-rear, as seen in key rear-wheel drive vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

Apart from switching to a predominantly rear-wheel drive powertrain layout, Mazda has also earmarked their new six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with electrification for this new range of large SUVs that are made up of two-row (CX-60) and three-row (CX-80) interior spaces, with the North American market having wider designs (CX-70 and CX-90 respectively).

Looking at how complete the vehicles are in the video shoot, the preview of the new Mazda CX-60 could be as soon as spring of 2022 in at least the European market.
