Volvo Cars Malaysia has announced that its in-house Volvo Wallbox Charger is now available in Malaysia, priced at RM3,990. Designed for Volvo electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), the wallbox offers smartphone connectivity while retaining the brand’s signature minimalist Scandinavian design.
Like Volvo’s cars, the new wallbox charger adopts a clean, minimalist design, with the Volvo wordmark elegantly displayed across the top. The front cover features a pastel, granite-like finish, complemented by a metallic strip beneath that completes the overall look. A light will shine on this strip to indicate the charger’s current charging status.
Volvo says the new Wallbox Charger supports charging speeds of up to 11 kW when connected to a three-phase power supply. Through a cloud connection via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or an optional SIM card, users can monitor charging status, start or stop charging sessions, view charging history, and schedule charging through the Volvo Cars App to optimise energy usage.
For households with multiple drivers or shared parking spaces, the charger also comes with two RFID cards, allowing owners to easily manage and restrict access.
The charger has also been designed with future capabilities in mind, including support for an external energy meter that enables charging using excess solar energy. For added peace of mind, it carries an IP55 ingress protection rating for dust and water resistance and comes equipped with an integrated Type 2 charging cable.

The new Volvo wallbox charger will be available at all Volvo dealerships nationwide and retails for RM3,990. Included in the price is a 36-month hardware warranty for long-term peace of mind. Volvo is also partnering with charge point operator EV Connection to offer professional installation packages starting from RM1,600.
