Video: Spending a weekend with the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid – here’s how much fuel I SAVED!

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid needs little introduction — it’s easily one of Malaysia’s favourite hybrid SUVs. Comfortable, fuel-efficient, and smooth to drive, it ticks all the right boxes for daily use. Having received a facelift late last year, it now wears a sharper look, gains a few interior upgrades, and starts from RM140,800 on the road without insurance.

On the outside, the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid sees most of its updates centred around its front fascia. It now sports a more sophisticated headlight assembly paired with a redesigned body-coloured front grille. Just like before, the car comes standard with features such as 18-inch wheels, roof rails, and LED taillights.

Inside, the new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid gains several key updates that make everyday driving even more effortless. The foot-actuated parking brake has been replaced with a more modern electronic brake with an auto-hold function.

Along with this, the car is now kitted with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and is paired with a 10.1-inch centre infotainment touchscreen, the latter supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid’s main draw though, as its name suggests, is its hybrid powertrain underneath the bonnet, which combines a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with an electric motor in a series-parallel setup, delivering a combined 122 hp through an E-CVT.

But just how fuel efficient can it be? Find out in our review video, where we took the crossover on a regular weekend jaunt – no hyper-miling just for flashy numbers!
