Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV), the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised Proton e.MAS 7), has received a number of upgrades that comprise over-the-air (OTA) updates, new colours, and an improved sales package that aims to improve the ownership experience.
Pro-Net says the upgrades were spearheaded by real owner feedback, demonstrating how real-world experience directly shapes the evolution of the product. Chief among the wish list of owners was support for Apple CarPlay (wired and wireless), which is now available on the EV crossover, and will make its way over to the existing cars via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Additionally, the OTA updates will also include updates for the Flyme Auto operating system to now support new third-party apps that comprise Zoom for Cars, izi.TRAVEL and Vivaldi Browser. More importantly, the new software update also finally fixes the settings-retention issue; currently, drivers would still have to manually adjust certain settings every time they start the vehicle.
The OTA updates will begin in batches from 21 July 2025. Nonetheless, Android users will have to wait until Q4 2025 for Android Auto support.

From a cosmetic perspective, the refresh introduces a new shade in the form of Obsidian Black. On the inside, Pro-Net has also made available a new Alabaster White interior that can only be had with the Quartz Rose and Turquoise Green Premium variants. If light interiors tickle your loins, you’ll need to hurry because the white cabin is limited to just 250 units each, all in a Premium trim.
Owners that have had to endure the annoying low-speed pedestrian warning system now have some reprieve. Infamously dubbed the “ice cream truck” jingle, the ears of owners can rest easy with the updates addressing the issue by allowing it to be completely deactivated.
However, in the name of safety, owners will now have access to two additional sound profiles, Galactic Note and Space Walk, that have been described as much easier on the aural system.

As part of the updates, Pro-Net has announced a new “Power Pack+” sales package that aims to further increase the ownership experience value with the following:
- Power Home: A free 7kW home charger worth RM1,500
- Power Plus: A complimentary V2L adaptor worth RM500
- Power Online: 5-years unlimited internet data worth RM1,800
- Power Thru: A 6-year unlimited mileage warranty for the vehicle, plus an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery.
- Power Exchange: Trade-in Rebate worth RM5,000
Lastly, new and existing customers will be delighted to know that the eMAS 7 now comes standard with a tonneau cover worth RM300. Existing owners will also soon receive the cover at no additional cost.
The refreshed eMAS 7 is now available at all authorised Proton eMAS dealerships nationwide. Head on over for a test drive or to place a booking for the limited-edition interior.
On the point of pricing, many were hoping that Pro-Net would be taking a leaf out of the BYD playbook with a ‘spec up, price down’ move but that will not be the case. In the name of protecting existing eMAS 7 owners and the future value of their EVs, pricing will remain the same at RM 105,800 for the Prime variant and RM 119,800 for the Premium. For comparison’s sake, the BYD Atto 3 Ultra will set you back RM 123,800.
