Proton eMAS expands into Brunei with Grand Motors appointed as distributor

Proton has announced the appointment of Grand Motors Sdn Bhd as the authorised distributor of Proton eMAS (stylised as Proton e.MAS) in Brunei, expanding the brand’s international footprint following its introduction in Singapore.

With over 40 years of experience in Brunei’s automotive market, Grand Motors will handle sales, marketing, customer engagement, and aftersales support for the brand, operating a dedicated showroom and service centre.

This appointment applies strictly to Proton eMAS with PAD Motors Sdn Bhd, remaining the authorised distributor for Proton’s internal-combustion-engine line-up in Brunei, which includes the Saga, S70, X50, X70, and X90.

“The appointment of Grand Motors is an important milestone for Proton eMAS as we continue to build on the success of our EV business and introduce Malaysian-developed mobility solutions to more customers across the region. Brunei is also a natural market for Proton eMAS,” said Proton International Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Edmund Lim Meng Thong.

“It has a clear aspiration to develop a more sustainable transportation ecosystem, while customers are increasingly seeking vehicles that offer advanced technology, high levels of safety and practicality for daily use. Together with Grand Motors, we will deliver a strong and complete ownership experience that makes the transition to EV ownership more accessible and convenient,” he added.

Further details regarding the specific product line-up, showroom opening dates, and official market launch activities will be announced by the company at a later date.
