Updated 2025 GWM Haval H6 facelift to make regional debut in Thailand this March

It seems our neighbours in Thailand will be getting the updated GWM Haval H6 in March 2025 according to Autolife Thailand, marking the facelift model’s regional debut. Interestingly, this Haval H6 facelift was revealed in early 2024, well before the Malaysian launch of the GWM Haval H6 HEV – in pre-facelift form – in October 2024.

The same Haval H6 is available in the Land of Smiles too, where it was launched there back in 2021 (in yet another pre-facelift form… yes Chinese cars are confusing). Currently, the GWM Haval H6 in Thailand is available in two variants, priced from THB1.039 million (approx. RM136k) to THB1.249 million (approx. RM164k).

Compared to the GWM Haval H6 HEV currently on sale in Malaysia, the facelifted version sports a revamped exterior, featuring a new design for its front grille and headlights. The new front bumper incorporates waterfall-styled daytime running lights, a design GWM calls “Starlight Waterfall.”

At the rear, the full-width tail lights have been replaced with two individual taillight clusters separated by a smaller ‘Haval’ script. The chrome trim above the number plate has also been removed, resulting in a cleaner and more modern look.

The interior receives significant updates, most notably a larger 14.6-inch central infotainment display replacing the current 12.3-inch unit, while the driver’s digital display remains at 10.25 inches.

The centre console has also been redesigned, with the rotary gear selector replaced by a stalk behind the steering wheel. There’s also a new 50W wireless charger. The steering wheel is also new, seemingly the same unit from the GWM Ora 07.

Like Malaysia, Thailand’s GWM Haval H6 HEV is offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), delivering a combined 243 hp and 530 Nm of torque.

However, our neighbours also get a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, which features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 154 hp and 233 Nm, working in tandem with an electric motor that generates 177 hp and 300 Nm.

Combined, this PHEV powertrain delivers 326 hp and 526 Nm to the front wheels via a dual-clutch transmission. A 34 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a pure electric NEDC range of 201 km. Charging is supported at 11 kW AC and 60 kW DC, the latter allowing for a 0% to 80% charge in 35 minutes.

However, Autolife Thailand reports that the high-voltage battery will be replaced in the facelift.

The GWM Haval H6 HEV is currently priced at RM139,800 in Malaysia, where it is locally assembled at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s (EPMB) facility in Melaka. Given that the Haval H6 HEV was just launched in Malaysia in October of last year, it’s unlikely that the facelifted version will be making its way here anytime soon – but one can hope, though.
