2024 Haval H6 facelift revealed – Malaysia launch in Q2 2024?

GWM has unveiled a new 2024 update for the Haval H6, ahead of its official debut at the upcoming 2024 Beijing Auto Show. Despite being called a “new generation” model in China, its specifications suggest that the 2024 Haval H6 is rather a (second) mid-cycle facelift update, although a pretty significant one at that.

With the popular SUV model already confirmed for launch in Malaysia around the second quarter of 2024, we could potentially see the Haval H6 debut here in this facelifted form, making Malaysia one of the first global markets to do so – similar to when the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro was launched here on our shores.

The refreshed 2024 Haval H6 sports a significantly updated exterior designed, headlined by the new front fascia with a massive grille, alongside new vertically-oriented “starlight waterfall” daytime-running lights.

Round the back, the full-width taillights have now been replaced by two individual light clusters, which the company says is illuminated by 124 individual LED elements. Between them, the ‘HAVAL’ script is now smaller in size, and the rest of the bodywork has also been tidied up with cleaner bumpers and a significant chrome delete exercise.

The new 2024 Haval H6 has also received a pretty significant update on the inside, most notably the reworked centre console that has now jettisoned the previous bridge-like element for a cleaner appearance – especially in the cream white colour scheme as seen in these photos. That said, the moulded plastic look of the centre console also don’t particularly scream “premium”, too, if we’re being honest.

As part of the update, the rotary gear selector dial from the pre-facelift model is now replaced by a stalk behind the steering wheel, and any semblance of physical buttons on the dashboard have now been removed, with their functionalities replaced by the now-larger infotainment display in the name of modernity and minimalism.

The new 2024 Haval H6 will be launched in China with two petrol powertrain options, both being carried over from the pre-facelift model. That said, they have both been updated with more power; the 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four mill now makes 177 hp, while the 2.0T variant is also uprated from 211 hp to now 231 hp. Both engines are paired to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

No details yet on the hybrid and PHEV powertrains, although we expect that announcement to follow soon, likely with similar performance enhancements.
