First CKD GWM Haval H6 HEV rolls off assembly line in Malaysia, primed for October launch

The first locally assembled (CKD) GWM Haval H6 HEV has now rolled off the production floor, ahead of its official launch in Malaysia scheduled for next month. Last previewed earlier this year, the Haval H6 HEV is the fourth model in GWM Malaysia’s line-up to be introduced in Malaysia following the Ora Good Cat, Ora 07, and Tank 300, but will be the brand’s first CKD model.

This locally assembled hybrid SUV is generating quite a buzz and for good reason. With pricing estimated to be under RM145,000, the CKD Haval H6 HEV is poised to be a strong contender in the highly competitive C-segment SUV market and will go head-to-head with popular models like the Honda CR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-5 and Proton X70 upon its launch in October.

GWM Malaysia is targeting an annual production capacity of 10,000 units at its new CKD production plant in Melaka, established in partnership with EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB). But that’s just the beginning as GWM has plans to increase production to 300,000 units in the future, signalling their long-term commitment to Malaysia.

The company reassures its customers that its vehicles are all built to the same standards for reliability and performance, despite being locally assembled in Malaysia. Every Haval H6 HEV that rolls off the production line will undergo a comprehensive procedure incorporating 12 rigorous quality checks, alongside a range of on-track safety checks.

The GWM Haval H6 HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) for a combined system output of 243 hp and 530 Nm. GWM claims this innovative powertrain seamlessly blends petrol and electric power for an exceptionally efficient and eco-friendly driving experience.

The CKD GWM Haval H6 HEV will include a comprehensive suite of Level 2 ADAS features, such as Intelligent Parking Assist, adaptive cruise control with intelligent cornering assist and low-speed follow lane departure and lane keep assist, as well as front and rear autonomous emergency braking.

Eager to get behind the wheel? The Haval H6 HEV is set to launch in October with an estimated price of under RM145,000. Bookings for the Haval H6 HEV are open and customers who place their booking before the official launch can enjoy these exclusive pre-launch rewards:
