CKD 2024 Kia Carnival open for booking in Malaysia – prices slashed, mid 8-seater variant dropped



Dinamikjaya Motors, Kia’s sole distributor in Malaysia has opened order books for the locally assembled (CKD) 2024 Kia Carnival. The Kia Carnival in Malaysia is available in three variants, while the Mid 8-Seater variant from before has been dropped:

  • Kia Carnival 2.2L Turbo Diesel 11-Seater – RM198,500
  • Kia Carnival 2.2L Turbo Diesel 8-Seater – RM245,888
  • Kia Carnival 2.2L Turbo Diesel 7-Seater – RM259,888

On the outside, the Kia Carnival in Malaysia is pretty much unchanged from its previous iteration. The Korean MPV continues to be offered with equipment such as front LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a dual power sunroof, smart power sliding doors, and a smart power tailgate.

The 7- and 8-seater variants are equipped with new 19-inch black alloy wheels. Four colour options are offered with the 2024 Kia Carnival in Malaysia, including Astra Blue, Jet Black, Snowflake White Pearl, and Meteor Grey.

Powering the 2024 Kia Carnival in Malaysia is the brand’s 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This results in a total output of 199 hp and 440 Nm.

Inside, the 2024 Kia Carnival in Malaysia is equipped with standard kits such as the twin 12.3-inch instrument display and touchscreen infotainment head unit setup. The latter comes with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. For further convenience, the newly updated Carnival is also equipped with a Qi wireless charging pad and seven USB ports.

The interior of the 2024 Kia Carnival Malaysia sports a black and grey leatherette finish. It also comes with leather seats, and which driver seat continues to offer heating and ventilating functions, a surround-view monitor, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. The centre walkthrough seat configuration continues to be exclusive to the 7-seater High variant.

In the safety department, the Kia Carnival comes with a list of advanced safety features. This consists of Multi-Collision Brake Control (MCB), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA). Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Junction Turning, Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Smart Cruise Control (SCC) are also included.
