The 2024 Honda City Hatchback facelift has been launched in Thailand over three years of being in the Thai market. Prices are up for some variants while have been maintained. The Thai-spec City hatchback is slightly different from the Malaysian version since it sports a 1.0-litre turbo engine for its standard variants. The variants are also different.

The facelifted Honda City hatchback in Thailand is made available in 5 variants with the addition of a new e:HEV SV variant.

  • 1.0 Turbo S+ – THB599,000 (approx. RM79,956)
  • 1.0 Turbo SV – THB679,000 (approx. RM90,634)
  • 1.0 Turbo RS – THB749,000 (approx. RM99,978)

The changes to the exterior are minor as the Honda City Hatchback facelift in Thailand gets a new front bumper and a new rear bumper. The wheel design has been updated, and the range-topping e:HEV RS variant now gets a black roof. The Thai-spec City hatchback also now gets remote engine start and a walk-away auto lock function.

The highlight of the Honda City facelift in Thailand would be the addition of Low-Speed Follow and Lead Car Departure notification in its arsenal of advanced safety equipment. These safety updates, however, are only applicable for the e:HEV SV and e:HEV RS variants.

Inside, depending on the variant, the City Hatchback now gets USB-C ports for the rear passengers. Following the Honda City sedan facelift, the City Hatchback also now gets wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto connectivity.

The powertrains remain the same for the Thai-spec City Hatchback with the option of the 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and the e:HEV powertrain with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder NA engine.

The 1.0-litre turbocharged mill makes 122 hp at 5,500 rpm and 173 Nm at 2,000 rpm. Paired with engine is a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and the system sends power to the front wheels only.

Thai customers can also opt for the e:HEV powertrain which consists of a 1.5-ltre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine and an electric drive system. The hybrid system outputs 109 hp and 253 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels only and an e-CVT is in use.

With the Honda City Hatchback facelift already launched in Thailand, we can expect to see it in Malaysia soon. Malaysian customers currently have the choice between 5 variants of the outgoing City Hatchback with prices ranging from RM78,900 for the S to RM109,900 for the RS.
