The 11th edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) is set to take place from 12 to 21 June 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. If you happen to be in town for the event, here are 10 cars in no particular order – you should definitely keep an eye out for.
1. Honda Prelude
The cult-favourite sports car from Honda will be launched locally in Malaysia soon. In its sixth-generation guise, the Honda Perlude features a series-parallel hybrid powertrain consisting of a two-litre four-cylinder engine producing 141 hp/182 Nm. This is paired with a traction motor that produces 184 hp and 315 Nm to drive the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox, enabling 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. It is not Civic Type R performance, but you are certainly getting the pizzazz of driving a two-door coupe.
2. Zeekr 9X
Confirmed for a Malaysian launch sometime in late 2026 to early 2027, the Zeekr 9X will be showcased by Zeekr Malaysia at KLIMS 2026. This appearance marks the official debut of the Hangzhou Bay Cullinan, and like its namesake, it won’t come cheap as it is estimated to be priced between RM700k to RM1 million. Though you will be getting lots of luxurious features, it packs a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain capable of producing up to 1,381 hp and 1,410 Nm, propelling it from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and a combined range of 1,165 km (CLTC).
Additionally, the company will be showcasing the Zeekr 009 Grand Edition, which is a posher variant of the luxury MPV that is only equipped with four seats instead of six seats. It was recently updated in China, where its powertrain is now capable of producing up to 925 hp and 913 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 220 km/h, though it is unknown for now if we will see the more powerful variant of the Zeekr 009 here.
3. Hyundai Ioniq 5N
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is arguably the first EV to be developed to be driver-focused. Hyundai did not just slap on a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing a combined 650 hp (478 kW) and 770 Nm, which enables 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with “N Grin Boost”, and call it a day. The company also went ahead and packed lots of toys for the driver to play with, such as N e-Shift, which simulates an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, N Active Sound+ with its fake pops and bangs, and even a dedicated N Drift Optimiser. You should, however, expect to pay RM450,000 when it arrives.
4. All-new Mazda CX-5
After what seemed a long wait, Mazda finally unveiled the third-generation CX-5 in late 2025, and the company will be showcasing the car at KLIMS 2026. Overall, the all-new Mazda CX-5 is larger than its predecessor across all dimensions, which should translate to a more roomy cabin. Its dashboard has been thoroughly modernised and now features a new large centre display with the removal of physical controls. Globally, the new Mazda CX-5 is available with the e-Skyactiv G two point five-litre straight-four engine. This unit integrates a 24V mild-hybrid system, producing 141 hp and 238 Nm.

5. MG ZS
MG Motor Malaysia will be showcasing the all-new second-generation ZS. Positioned below the MG HS, the updated ZS is offered with petrol and hybrid powertrains. The latter consists of a naturally-aspirated one point five-litre engine making 102 hp/128 Nm paired with a traction motor producing 136 hp/250 Nm for a combined output of 196 hp and 465 Nm, which is sent to the front wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
Furthermore, the company will be showcasing the MG IM6, a fully electric vehicle (EV) which is actually sold in China under IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC Motors, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-tech. This EV in its performance variant has 787 hp (572 kW) and 802 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.48 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.
6. Jetour G700
Jetour Auto Malaysia will be showcasing the G700, and this is a behemoth of an SUV that comes in at 5,198 mm long, 2,050 mm wide, and 1,956 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,870 mm, making it similar in size to the GWM Tank 500, Toyota Land Cruiser, and even the Land Rover Defender 110. The company says that the G700 is designed by former Land Rover Chief Designer Andrew Collinson, which gives it its utilitarian and boxy appearance. It features a PHEV powertrain, which sees a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and traction motors for an output of 904 hp and 1,135 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and a claimed combined range of 1,400 km under the optimistic CLTC test cycle.
7. Hyundai Stargazer
Aside from the spicy Ioniq 5 N, the more family-friendly Hyundai Stargazer is also making an appearance at KLIMS 2026, where the company previously confirmed that this B-segment MPV is launching locally sometime in Q4 2026. When it is launched, it will compete against the Perodua Alza and the Mitsubishi Xpander with its quirky spaceship-esque styling, three-row interior, and a powertrain consisting of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 115 hp and 144 Nm, sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.
8. Perodua Bezza Concept
Perodua could be showcasing a new concept car, which could hint at the next-generation Perodua Bezza, based on its social media visual that shows a silhouette of a sedan. Though the second national brand did not explicitly confirm this, looking at the budget workhorse’s age, which made its debut a decade ago in 2016 and last received a facelift in 2020, it is high time the company rolled out a replacement, especially considering its chief rival, Proton, has already released the all-new Proton Saga.
On Proton’s end, the company will be debuting a new variant of the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7) equipped with a larger 68.39-kWh Aegis Short Blade LFP battery that increases the range to 475 km (WLTP). Compared to the Prime variant, which is equipped with a 49.52-kWh battery good for a range of 345 km (WLTP), and the Premium with its 60.22-kWh battery enabling a range of 410 km (WLTP), the new variant has 130 km and 65 km more range, respectively.
9. Dongfeng MHero II
Despite looking like an SUV built for the armed forces, the Dongfeng MHero II is one of three cars that Dongfeng will be showcasing at KLIMS 2026. This behemoth, measuring 5,100 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,899 mm tall, with a 3,005 mm wheelbase, is anything but small, as it is larger than the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. It is powered by a PHEV powertrain that sees a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with traction motors to deliver a combined output of 687 hp and 848 Nm. Equipped with a 50.4 kWh battery, it has an EV range of 215 km (CLTC) and a claimed combined range of 1,365 km (CLTC).
10. Kia EV5
When Kia Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KSM) directly took over operations of the Korean marque here in Malaysia from Dinamikjaya Motors (DJM), it initially announced that it had no plans to introduce its EV models for Malaysia. That stance could soon change because Kia is bringing three EVs from its lineup to KLIMS 2026, which include the Kia EV3, EV5, and the Kia PV5. The Kia EV5 was launched in Singapore in early 2025, and is offered in three variants there, namely Air, Earth, and the sportier GT-Line.
The Air variant is equipped with a 64.2 kWh pack, offering up to 400 km (WLTP) of range. The Earth and GT-Line variants both get a larger 88.1 kWh battery, with the Earth delivering up to 540 km (WLTP) of range. However, the GT-Line’s more power-hungry dual-motor setup brings its range down to 470 km (WLTP).
