Kia Sales Malaysia has showcased a trio of electric vehicles at KLIMS 2026, hinting at a future local debut for the EV4, EV5, and PV5. Officially, the firm downplays a potential local debut, describing the showcase merely as a demonstration of its commitment to delivering innovative mobility solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
Starting with the smallest model of the bunch, the Kia EV4 is built on the marque’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and is available in sedan or hatchback guises, with the former taking the stage at the motor show.
The sedan variant presents an unconventional silhouette that splits the difference between a hatchback and a traditional three-box shape at the rear. While the front end is undoubtedly stylish, the side profile and rear styling are best described as an acquired taste.

KSM states that the Kia EV4 features a front-mounted traction motor producing 204 hp (150 kW) and 283 Nm. Paired with an 81.4 kWh battery, this setup delivers a range of 612 km (WLTP).
Globally, a base variant exists with a smaller 58.3 kWh NMC battery, dropping the range to 430 km (WLTP) for the sedan and 410 km (WLTP) for the hatchback.
When hooked up to a 350 kW DC fast charger, Kia claims the EV4 can recharge its battery from 10-80 % in 29 minutes, while the interior is equipped with the brand’s Integrated Panoramic Display.
The larger Kia EV5 also adopts the E-GMP architecture, arriving as an SUV that looks distinctively like a minaturised Kia EV9. Its powertrain produces up to 313 hp (230 kW) and 480 Nm, depending on the variant, enabling 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a range of 540 km (WLTP), though KSM stopped short of revealing detailed domestic drivetrain configurations or battery capacities.

In Singapore, the Kia EV5 is sold in three variants named Air, Earth, and GT-Line. The Air and Earth variants feature a single traction motor on the front axle producing 136 hp and 310 Nm, whereas the range-topping GT-Line utilises a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup to produce the combined 313 hp and 480 Nm.
When it comes to the batteries, the Air variant is equipped with a 64.2 kWh pack that enables a range of 400 km (WLTP). The Earth and GT-Line variants both receive a larger 88.1 kWh battery, allowing the front-wheel-drive Earth variant to deliver 540 km (WLTP) of range. However, the more power-hungry dual-motor layout of the GT-Line reduces the range down to 470 km (WLTP).

Moving to the Kia PV5, this is the first model built on the dedicated E-GMP.S Platform Beyond Vehicle architecture. Designed for commercial, logistics, and lifestyle applications, the Kia PV5 in its passenger configuration features a 163 hp (120 kW) front-mounted traction motor.
It presents itself as a van styled with a futuristic touch, utilising the brand’s Opposites United design language. These bold lines allowed the PV5 to scoop multiple accolades, including prestigious trophies from the Red Dot and iF Design Awards.
It is also noteworthy that the Kia PV5 in its cargo configuration won a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance travelled by a light-duty battery-powered electric van with a maximum payload on a single charge. The PV5 covered 693.38 km with its 71.2 kWh battery while carrying its maximum authorised payload of 665 kg.
