Kia Carnival facelift specs revealed – 1.6L turbo hybrid, 245hp, 367Nm

Not long after unveiling the design of the Kia Carnival facelift, Kia has unveiled the interior as well as the specifications of the Kia Carnival facelift. The Carnival is available with 3 seating configurations and 3 powertrain options.

We’ve already seen the exterior design of the Carnival facelift and it sports a look that resembles the all-electric Kia EV9. As a facelift, its underpinnings are still the same as that of its predecessor. Now, we get to see the rest of the car.

Kia has finally revealed the full details of the Carnival facelift’s powertrain and yes, there are three options – gasoline, diesel, and hybrid. The main highlight of the Kia Carnival facelift’s powertrain is the hybrid option. It consists of a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline engine and a hybrid system. Combined, the hybrid powertrain outputs 245 hp and 367 Nm. The other two powertrain options for the Kia Carnival facelift are the 3.5-litre gasoline engine and the 2.2-litre diesel option.

The car maintains a similar cabin layout as its predecessor, albeit with some new refreshing touches. There’s a twin panoramic curved display with a 12.3-inch screen for the digital instrument and another one for the head unit which runs on Kia’s next-gen infotainment system.

Other interior highlights in the Carnival include multi-zone voice recognition, a UV-sterilizing storage box, a “Hey Kia” command system, a head-up display (HUD), fingerprint authentication, and USB-C terminals. Second-row passengers get dynamic body care seats with massaging function and double-glazed windows. They also get 14.6-inch dual monitors each for entertainment purposes.

Kia says that it has significantly improved the comfort and quietness of the new Carnival by using the shock absorbers from the Carnival High Limousine for the rest of the new Carnival range. This works in tandem with the double-glazed windows that improve the quietness of the Carnival’s cabin.

The MPV is also made available with the Gravity Trim and also in a “High Limousine” version. The Gravity trim adds dedicated black trims to the Carnival while the High Limousine is a 4-seater luxury version of the Carnival with a high roof.
