Back in July, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) started accepting bookings for the all-new AH40 Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Just slightly over three months later, the MPV twins have finally made their launch here in Malaysia. The Toyota Alphard 2.4T Executive Lounge is priced at RM538,000, while the Toyota Vellfire 2.5 is priced at RM438,000. Both prices are on the road and without insurance.
On the outside, both the all-new Toyota Alphard and Vellfire in Malaysia get full LED headlamps. The headlamp setup also comes with sequential signal lamps, cornering lamps, and daytime running lights (DRLs). Fitted with the luxury MPVs are a set of 19-inch lightweight alloys.
Customers are able to choose their all-new Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge’s exterior to be finished in either Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, Precious Leo-Blond, or black. The all-new Toyota Vellfire on the other hand is available in either Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, or Black.

Powering the all-new Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge in Malaysia is a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged Dual VVT-i engine, which replaces its predecessor’s 3.5-litre V6 engine. Mated to a Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission with sequential manual selection, power is sent to the front wheels, resulting in 278 hp (metric) and 430 Nm.
The all-new Toyota Vellfire on the other hand gets the same powertrain as its predecessor, which is the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated Dual VVT-i engine. Paired with a Super CVT-i gearbox that can perform seven simulated gears, power is sent to the MPV’s front wheels, resulting in a total of 182 hp (metric) and 235 Nm.
The two new luxury MPVs are underpinned by Toyota’s GA-K version of the TNGA platform. With this new platform, Toyota has incorporated various anti-vibration measures to ensure that vibrations from the road are minimized for the occupants. Suspension-wise, the fourth-generation Toyota Alphard and Vellfire are fitted with a MacPherson strut setup up front, and a double wishbone setup at the back.

Moving inside, the all-new Malaysian-spec Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge can be finished in either a beige or black interior. The Toyota Vellfire can only be opted for with a black interior.
To elevate the sense of luxury in the Alphard, woodgrain patterns can be found on the instrument panel ornamentation, steering wheel, and door speaker base. As for the Vellfire, woodgrain trims are also present on the steering wheel and rear door speaker base.
Like many luxury vehicles these days, the all-new Alphard and Vellfire also come with a 64-colour ambient light system. Previously located along both sides of the ceiling, fixtures such as the lighting, assorted switches, and air conditioning vent are now clustered in a console in the centre of the ceiling.
Speaking of the ceiling, the MPV twins are fitted with two panoramic glass roofs. The roofs come with independently operable right and left-side shades. As for the side windows, they now come with motorised pull-down sunshades, which is a first in a Toyota model.

The all-new Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge in Malaysia gets Nappa genuine leather upholstery, and like before, there are also “VIP” type seats which feature power recline, seat heater, ventilation, and Ottoman, along with a new massage function. The luxury MPV also comes with a table which can be rotated in horizontal or vertical orientation and comes with a vanity mirror.
To adjust the sound system and air-conditioning and ventilation systems, Toyota has included the all-new Alphard with a smartphone-like remote control unit. For entertainment while on the move, the Alphard is also equipped with a 14-inch rear monitor display. One additional feature that is exclusive to the Alphard is a new power walk-in mechanism top that allows entry to the rear seats.
The all-new fourth-generation Toyota Vellfire comes standard with synthetic leather upholstery. At the back are power executive seats with power recline, ottoman, as well as seat heater and ventilation functions.

Safety-wise, both the Malaysian-spec 2023 Toyota Alphard and Vellfire are equipped with the brand’s Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS3) advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The Japanese carmaker says that it has also added an upgraded forward-facing camera with higher resolution and wider angles, along with an improved radar sensor. Safety features that are fitted with the two MPVs are as follows:

To recap, the fourth-generation 2024 Toyota Alphard and Vellfire have been launched in Malaysia. Priced at RM538,000 and RM438,000, on-the-road, and without insurance, the luxury MPVs’ price tags come with a 5-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.
