Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has launched the all-new Jaecoo J5 in Malaysia. A single locally-assembled (CKD) variant is available, priced at RM108,000, on-the-road, without insurance.
As the entry-level model in Omoda Jaecoo’s Malaysian lineup, the J5 arrives as a B-segment SUV, measuring 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height, and boasting a 2,620 mm wheelbase. These dimensions position the Jaecoo J5 to compete against the Proton X50 and the Honda HR-V.

Following in its larger sibling’s footsteps, the J5’s exterior design is reminiscent of a Range Rover. Sleek headlights and taillights are wrapped in a body featuring short overhangs and distinct beltlines that echo the British luxury icon, giving the Jaecoo J5 a premium aesthetic.

Inside, the Jaecoo J5 is equipped with an eight-inch digital instrument LCD gauge cluster and a 13.2-inch portrait-oriented centre infotainment display. A highlight of the J5’s interior is its faux-leather upholstery, which features anti-bacterial and scratch-resistant materials.

This is paired with a CVT gearbox driving the front wheels, which enables 0-100 km/h in 10.2 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 175 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated 7.5L/100 km.
