2025 Hyundai Staria CKD now on sale from RM179k – assembled at Inokom plant in Kulim

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has announced the start of sales of the locally assembled (CKD) Hyundai Staria, built at Sime Darby Motors’ Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah. The new Staria marks Hyundai’s first CKD model in Malaysia under HMY management.

The company says the local production of the Hyundai Staria underscores its promises to invest in Malaysia’s industrial and economic development while delivering vehicles that uphold global standards.

HMY President, Eric Lee, said, “The commencement of local production for the Hyundai Staira is more than just a production achievement. It represents Hyundai’s confidence in Malaysia as an important market and a growing hub for future assembly.”

The company adds that they are committed to fostering stronger supply chains and supporting the nation’s industrial ecosystem. It sees itself “not only as a mobility provider, but also as a long-term collaborator in Malaysia’s economic development journey.”

HMY Managing Director, Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, said, “We made a bold statement when we established Hyundai Motor Malaysia, that we are here to stay. And here to stay means stability, trust, and a long-term presence in Malaysia.”

“It means investing in local production, working hand-in-hand with our partners and the government, and most importantly, delivering on the promises we have made — while setting new ones for the future,” she added.

Although assembled locally, prices for the Hyundai Staria CKD remain unchanged, starting from RM179,888 for the 10-seater Style variant, to RM267,888 for the flagship seven-seater Prestige variant. Prices are inclusive of a comprehensive warranty package, which includes an eight-year/160,000 km warranty and up to eight times of free maintenance labour charges.

In Malaysia, the Hyundai Staria is offered solely with a 2.2-litre turbo diesel producing 177 hp and 430 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels only via an eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling a top speed of 185 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 12.4 seconds regardless of seating configurations.

Upgrading to the flagship variant transforms the Staria into a three-row, seven-seater layout (2-2-3). Premium features also include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual sunroofs, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Hyundai Staria is also part of HMY’s year-end regards campaign, where customers can enjoy benefits including free scheduled maintenance of up to eight times, both parts and labour included, or a cash reward of RM6,000. There’s also additional RM5,000 exclusive offers on selected models, up to RM2,000 worth of myHyundaiRewards lifestyle vouchers or a RM1,500 bonus, free accessories, and a complimentary AutoPro Package upgrade.
