Geely has unveiled the new 2025 Geely Xingyuan, the company’s best-selling EV model in China and the Chinese counterpart to the Proton eMAS 5 (stylised as e.MAS 5).
The facelift update brings subtle changes to the Geely Xingyuan, but the real highlight is undoubtedly the new “Star Limited Edition.” Limited to just 1,000 units, its exterior design bears a striking resemblance to the Smart #1 Brabus.
Instead of receiving a performance boost, the Star Limited Edition features a two-tone grey and red paint job, complemented by red accents and black rims, giving the cutesy Xingyuan a sporty presence on the road.
Otherwise, the standard Geely Xingyuan’s exterior remains largely unchanged, save for a new C-pillar trim similar to what’s seen on the Proton eMAS 5, instead of the linear design found on the pre-facelift model. The interior also swaps the existing skyline motif on the dashboard for a new illuminated gloss black trim, mirroring that of the Proton eMAS 5.
Also new on the facelift Geely Xingyuan are two new exterior colours: “Chanson Purple” and “Cocoa Beige”, bringing the total to eight colours for owners to choose from.

No changes were made to the powertrain of the Geely Xingyuan. As before, two powertrains will be offered with base variants powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 79 hp (58 kW) and 130 Nm, paired with a 30.12 kWh lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery pack providing a range of 310 km (CLTC).
Higher-end variants of the Xingyuan feature a more powerful rear-mounted electric motor producing 116 hp (85 kW) and 150 Nm, coupled with a larger 40.16 kWh LFP battery pack, enabling a range of 410 km (CLTC).
The cabin features a 10.1-inch infotainment display, which is upgraded to a 14.6-inch screen on higher variants. The system runs on the Flyme Auto OS, which is the same operating system used in the Proton eMAS 7. (The eMAS 5, however, will run on a different Atlas OS system.)
Other interior features include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a ventilated 50W Qi wireless charging pad. There’s also 32 individual compartments, a 70-litre frunk, and a 375-litre boot that expands to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded.
In China, the facelifted Geely Xingyuan is priced from CNY68,800 (approx. RM41k) to CNY98,800 (approx. RM59k) for the Star Limited Edition. Closer to home, the Proton eMAS 5 is now open for booking in two variants, Prime and Premium, with prices estimated to fall between RM60k to RM80k.
