Alongside the launch of the Toyota GR Yaris facelift, its bigger sibling, the new 2025 facelift Toyota GR Corolla has also now made its Malaysia debut. Priced at RM367,000 on-the-road (OTR) without insurance for the manual variant, this represents a RM12,000 increase over the pre-facelift version.
Like its smaller sibling, the Corolla GR facelift also introduces a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, which Toyota calls the Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic. This new transmission features launch control and paddle shifters, enhancing the driving experience and offering greater control over gear changes.
But for those eagerly awaiting the automatic variant of the Toyota GR Corolla facelift, your patience will be required. The automatic version is expected to arrive later, this could possibly be due to UMW Toyota Motor unable to secure allocations for the automatic variant amidst high global demand in time for the local launch.
Aside from the introduction of the automatic gearbox, the Toyota GR Corolla facelift also introduces changes under the skin, such as suspension improvements. Rebound spring rates have been retuned for both the front and rear dampers, along with other refinements, to improve vehicle control and responsiveness.

Under the hood, the 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine maintains its 300 hp output, but torque is increased to 400 Nm from 370 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via the GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 5.3 seconds, onwards to a top speed of 230 km/h.
The exterior design has also been updated, now with a new and more aggressive front and rear design. The larger front intakes are not merely for show as they now have improved brake ducts and a new air curtain construction that decreases turbulence around the tyres, improving stability.
Those larger front intakes also allow the placement of the transmission cooler for the new automatic gearbox and the sub-radiator to keep things cool during spirited driving.
Inside the Toyota GR Corolla facelift, changes are minimal, unlike the dramatically redesigned dashboard in the Toyota GR Yaris. The most noticeable difference is a darker finish on the dashboard trims and switches, which were previously silver. Safety-wise, the Toyota GR Corolla facelift is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard across both variants. This includes:
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDASA)
- Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
- Road Sign Assist (RSA)
- Automatic High Beams (AHB)
The 2025 Toyota GR Corolla facelift is priced at RM367,000 (OTR) with the six-speed manual. Prices are inclusive of a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
