CKD 2025 Volvo EX30 now open for booking – 2 variants only, from RM208k

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has opened their order books for the locally assembled (CKD) Volvo EX30 following the sold-out success of CBU imported units from China since its launch in late September of last year in 2024.

For Model Year 2025 (MY25), the locally assembled Volvo EX30 will now only be available in two variants: the Ultra at RM208,888 and the Ultra Twin Performance at RM228,888, both unchanged from last year’s pricing. However, the starting price for the EX30 has now gone up in practice, as VCM has decided to omit the base Plus variant which started at RM188,888 last year.

Specs wise, the electric drivetrains powering both variants remain the same as last year’s. The Ultra has a single motor generating 268 hp (200 kW) and 343 Nm of torque that sends it from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ultra Twin Performance sports dual motors that put down 428 hp (315 kW) and 543 Nm of torque to all four wheels, translating to a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 3.6 seconds.

Both variants feature the same 69 kWh NMC battery with a 476 km and 450 km (WLTP) range for the single and twin motor variants respectively. Rapid 175 kW DC fast charging supported, taking approximately 28 minutes to charge from 10-80%, while an on-board 11 kW AC charger translates to a full charge in roughly eight hours.

Likewise, all interior and exterior equipment also remains unchanged from before. That said, the new MY25 Volvo EX30 will only be offered in three exterior colour options: Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White. The previously-available Onyx Black and the funky Moss Yellow will not be making a return for the CKD variants.

The EX30 continues to feature advanced technology and safety features suitable for daily driving, notably with Google Built-in via the 12.3-inch touch screen, upgraded Pilot Assist with semi-autonomous driving capabilities, and Park Pilot Assist for assisted parking in tight spots.

Both variants also come with a Harman Kardon soundbar system that provides a premium aural experience for listening to your favourite tracks during your daily commute.

Both variants of the Volvo EX30 are covered by the Volvo Car Service Plan (VSP), which offers essential services such as cabin air filter and wiper blade replacement, brake fluid checks, and software updates for up to five years or 100,000 km whichever comes first.

Additionally, brake pads and discs – which are usually deemed as wear-and-tear items – are also covered in the VSP after-sales support plan. EX30 owners are also entitled to a five-year 24-hour roadside assistance programme, where towing services to nearby authorised Volvo service centres within the covered area are included.

The 2025 Volvo EX30 is also covered by a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty that guarantees performance too – offering free repairs or replacement should the capacity fall below 70% within the warranty period.
