Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has recently begun deliveries of its first locally assembled (CKD) model, the GWM Haval H6 HEV, with some 200 units being delivered to new owners nationwide. In less than a month since the model’s launch, GWM Malaysia has now already collected over 1,500 bookings for the hybrid SUV.
The strong sales performance is a reflection of the model’s strong market demand and interest here in Malaysia, and is a testament to their dedication in expanding its market presence and providing a more affordable range of high-quality vehicles to the local market, the company says.
GWM’s sales performance is also reflected globally, with the company recording a total overseas sales of 122,700 units in the third quarter of the year, representing an impressive 39.85% year-on-year growth. The GWM Haval brand has also recently surpassed nine million units in cumulative global sales, while the GWM Tank brand reached over 500,000 cumulative sales in Q3 2024.
In Malaysia, the GWM Haval H6 HEV is offered in a single variant, priced at RM139,800 on-the-road and without insurance. The HEV in its name refers to its hybrid powertrain, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a dedicated hybrid transmission and electric motor for a combined output of 243 hp and 530 Nm.
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is done in a brisk 7.7 seconds, but according to GWM’s press release, it’s the fuel saving capabilities that its customers found most enticing, with the Haval H6 HEV promising up to 1,000 km of driving range in a single tank of fuel.

As a gesture of appreciation to its customers, GWM Malaysia is offering a series of lucrative deals for the GWM Haval H6 HEV, including five years of free service (nclusive of parts and labour) for those who registered their cars in 2024, as well as a “GWM Owners Loyalty Offer” giving existing GWM vehicle owners an additional RM3,000 rebate on the Haval H6 HEV.
The GWM Haval H6 comes as standard with a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, eight-year/1,000,000 km HEV system warranty, as well as a seven-year/ 200,000km full vehicle warranty.
