Looking at the Mercedes-Benz GLC350e and wishing it were sleeker? Look no further than the Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 4MATIC Coupe. Like the standard GLC, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Coupe will also be replacing the previous GLC300 model here in Malaysia.
With identical specs to its standard SUV counterpart, the main difference with the Coupe is the body style. Unique to the GLC 350e Coupe is the sleek rear end, giving it a sportier presence on the road.
The Coupe shares its powertrain with the regular GLC350e SUV. A 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 204 hp and 320 Nm, while an integrated starter-generator (ISG) adds another 136 hp and 440 Nm. This combination results in a total output of 313 hp and 550 Nm, allowing the GLC 350e Coupe to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
Thanks to the fairly sizeable 31.2 kWh battery pack, the Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Coupe also boasts a pure electric range of over 100 km (WLTP). Charging is done via an on-board 11 kW AC charger, taking roughly two hours.
If you crave more performance, the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe would be the better choice, thanks to its “one man, one engine” hand-built 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, equipped with an F1-derived electric exhaust gas turbocharger.
Paired with a belt-driven starter-generator (RSG) that gives an additional boost of 14 hp and 150 Nm under heavy acceleration, the GLC43 Coupe boasts a total output of 421 hp and 500 Nm. With this powertrain, the GLC43 AMG accomplishes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds.
Fancy one? The Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e Coupe is priced at RM425,888 on-the-road without insurance, with a four-year/unlimited mileage warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty. The Mercedes-AMG GLC43 meanwhile starts at RM498,888 on-the-road without insurance and includes a four-year/unlimited mileage warranty.
