First previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show last year, GWM Malaysia has now confirmed that the Haval H6 HEV hybrid will soon be making its official debut here in Malaysia before the end of Q2 2024, as a locally assembled model following the company’s recent agreement with EP Manufacturing Berhad.
The launch of the Haval H6 HEV will be followed by the Tank 300 in Q3 2024, which together with the Ora 07 that was previewed earlier today, form what the company calls the “GWM 2024 Vision”.
The Haval H6 is a C-segment SUV, with dimensions roughly comparable to the all-new 2024 Honda CR-V, measuring 4,683 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,730 mm tall, but with a longer wheelbase of 2,738 mm.
Details for the upcoming Haval H6 HEV has not yet been announced for Malaysia, but based on preliminary specifications the company shared earlier last year, it’ll pack a 1.5-litre inline-four turbocharged hybrid powertrain that offers up to 243 hp and 530 Nm, with power transferred to the front wheels via GWM’s two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) that enables the H6 to function in series-parallel hybrid modes.
Based on the equipment list of the preview model, the Haval H6 HEV in Malaysia should come standard with matrix LED headlights, a full-width LED tail light bar, and on the inside, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, ambient lighting, a large 1.2 square metre panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree surround view monitor.
The preliminary spec sheet also suggests that the Haval H6 HEV will be equipped with a full suite of advanced driver assist features here in Malaysia, including the likes of autonomous emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist, the marque’s unique Wisdom Dodge system, as well as a fully-automated parking assist system.
