Video: 2024 MG ZS EV launched in Malaysia at RM126k

MG Motor Malaysia has launched its all-electric SUV – the 2024 MG ZS EV to battle against the BYD Atto 3 and the Chery Omoda E5, with a RM125,999 price tag. Alongside the ZS EV, the MG4 EV hatchback also made its launch here in Malaysia.

Essentially an all-electric version of the internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered MG ZS, the MG ZS EV is packed with exterior features like projector LED headlights, LED taillights, and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. One obvious giveaway that will help you to differentiate between the ZS EV and its engine-powered sibling is its closed-off front panel and the front-mounted EV charging port it houses.

Powering the MG ZS EV in Malaysia is a single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD) electric motor, pushing out 176 hp (metric) and 280 Nm. Thanks to a 51.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the SUV can travel as far as 320 km (WLTP) on a single charge.

In terms of charging, the MG ZS EV can be charged via AC charging at a maximum rate of 7 kW, as well as DC charging at a maximum rate of 50 kW. The former will top up the battery from 10 to 100% in 8 hours, while the latter can juice the car up from 10 to 80% in 54 minutes.
