GWM Malaysia slash prices for 2024 Ora Good Cat – from RM114k, existing owners get 5yr free service

GWM Malaysia has announced new price tags for the Ora Good Cat, which now starts from RM113,800 for the 400 Pro variant, and RM143,800 for the 500 Ultra, representing a significant RM26k reduction for both variants.

As before, the Ora Good Cat in Malaysia is covered by a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year/180,000 km battery warranty, as well as an eight-year/180,000 km electric motor and control unit warranty.

As a result of the new pricing structure, though, it now loses out on the five times free service offer as well as the complimentary home charger, both of which were previously offered as part of the model’s official launch package.

The latter, however, is part of a new Purr-fect Raya Deal that includes a complimentary home wall box charger and three-pin portable charger for any new registrations from now until 30 April 2024.

Commenting on the new pricing, GWM Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mike Cui An Qi said, “With the new selling price, we strongly believe GWM Ora Good Cat will become one of the best value EVs, especially within the price range of RM 120,000.With this strategic pricing, it offers consumers who seek an affordable and elegant EV that comes with a cutting-edge technology and superior performance.”

The drop in pricing is most definitely due to new competition from the BYD Dolphin and Neta V, that are priced from RM100,530 and RM100,000 respectively.

As a mark of appreciation to the existing owners of the Ora Good Cat, GWM Malaysia will also be offering an additional two-year warranty coverage for their vehicles up to 150,000 km, alongside an additional five-year/75,000 km free maintenance package that includes parts and labour costs, on top of their last completed service interval.

GWM Malaysia says the gesture underscores its commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty, recognising the trust and support current owners have placed in the brand.

As a quick recap, the Ora Good Cat is available in Malaysia in two variants, namely the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra. The main differentiator between the two is the battery size; the 400 Pro is equipped with a 47.8 kWh battery pack for a NEDC-rated range of 400 km, while the 500 Pro boasts a larger 63.1 kWh pack for a driving range of 500 km (NEDC).

Befitting its cutesy appearance, the Ora Good Cat is also now offered in a unique Pistachio Green colour option with matching interior hues.
