Malaysia Autoshow 2024 confirmed for May 21-26, largest one yet

The Malaysia Autoshow will be opening its doors once again next year in the form of the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024). It will be held from May 21 to 26, 2024 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS). The soft launch event of the auto show was officiated today by the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

The MAS 2024 is the auto show’s seventh edition and is organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii). It continues the tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, including internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EV). There will also be more brands showcasing their products at next year’s Malaysia Autoshow, as the 30,000 square meter exhibition space has been expanded to 40,000 square meters.

Speaking at the MAS 2024 Soft Launch, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said that the National Automotive Policy (NAP2020) policy provides the local automotive industry with a clear direction for future preparations. This is done through the development of Next Generation Vehicles (NxGV) including EVs that are in line with launches of the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, as well as the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

The MAS 2024 will feature four halls (Hall A, A1, A2, and B) that will be showcasing the latest vehicles on offer in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Halls C and D will showcase 2-wheeler products, featuring both ICE- and electric-powered bikes. Visitors will also be offered special packages and deals, as well as special finance packages through the MAS 2024 bank partner.

MAS 2024 will also be expanding to IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, to allow not only more exhibition space but also to improve overall traffic flow in and out of the show. Visitors can now choose to park their vehicles either on the show grounds at MAEPS or at IOI City Mall, where a free shuttle service will be available to transport visitors to MAEPS after purchasing the Malaysia Autoshow tickets at the Main Concourse.

MARii Chief Executive Officer, Azrul Reza Aziz in his speech said that building on the achievements of the past, Malaysia Autoshow 2024 is gearing up to be yet another milestone event. The exhibition space will see a significant expansion providing more room for innovation and excitement.

He added that MAS 2024 will take full advantage of the MAEPS outdoor areas and terrain to allow a better car-buying experience for the visitors. This includes:

  • Three test drive routes spanning 18 km which further allow the show visitors to fully experience the cars tested. There will also be one test drive route dedicated to “high-performance” test drives, namely cars with engine capacities of 3,000cc and above, and bikes with engine capacities of 650cc and above.
  • Full use of show grounds, featuring vehicle accessories for aftermarket, car auctions, and family-friendly entertainment. The exhibits will feature a diverse range of car accessories, catering to individuals seeking safety enhancements and performance upgrades. This dedicated area will not only showcase a variety of spare parts and components but will also highlight EV accessories and EV charging ports.
  • Fun-filled activities for the entire family at the Laman Tiba.
  • A variety of culinary delights at the International Auto Gourmet Festival.

This year’s MAS 2023 brought in RM1 billion marks of potential sales and recorded 191,926 visitors over the four-day event. The show featured 9 new cars and bike launches, showcasing over 30 car brands and 50 bike brands and accessories, across more than 300 displays, including vehicles, accessories, and cutting-edge technology products.

With that, next year’s MAS 2024 is aiming to garner up to RM1.6 billion in potential sales and attract up to 250,000 visitors. Tickets for MAS 2024 will be available on sale starting December 12, 2023. For tickets and more information, you may visit www.autoshow.my or follow MAS 2024’s social media channels.
