Chery Malaysia has opened the doors to yet another new 4S Centre as it continues to expand its network within the country. The latest Chery 4S Centre, located in Medini, Johor Bahru, is the largest of such outlet in Malaysia to date.
Operated by its dealer-partner, Gagner Auto, the new Chery Medini 4S centre is equipped with sales, service, spare parts, as well as body and paint facilities to “provide customers with a seamless and comprehensive Chery experience”, the press release reads.
Additionally, the new flagship outlet is also built with an “eco-friendly design” with a focus on energy-efficient practices, in line with the marque’s commitment to sustainability and global and local authorities’ green initiatives.
Like the recent grand opening of the Chery Kuantan 4S, the upcoming fully-electric Chery Omoda E5 was also previewed at the launch of the Medini 4S Centre – a first for the Southern region.
First previewed in a media event last month, the Chery Omoda E5 is set to make its official launch in Malaysia sometime around March next year. It’ll be powered by a single motor, capable of outputting 150 kW (204 hp) and 340 Nm of torque. Power is supplied by a 61 kWh LFP battery pack, for a rated driving range of up to 430 km on the WLTP test cycle.

Speaking at the launch, Chery Malaysia Vice President, Lee Wen Hsiang reiterated the brand’s commitment towards investing in the nation. “With the upcoming launch of our Omoda E5, the Chery group advocates to a more sustainable environment, stimulate investment in renewable energy infrastructure development while promoting smart city integration.”
The company previously announced its target to capture 20% of the Malaysian electric vehicle market share by 2024.
