The all-new Toyota Vios for 2023 has finally been launched in Malaysia, now offered in two variants – E and G. Prices start from RM89,600 for the standard variant and top off at RM95,500 for the range-topping version.

The car now sits on an all-new platform. It is larger than before but also 110 kg lighter than its predecessor. Weight-cutting measures include the omission of the folding function for the rear backrests and the spare wheel. The Vios now comes with a tyre repair kit to keep you going.

Standard features on the outside of the all-new Vios include an Aerokit, an RFID tag, and LED headlights with LED DRLs. Aero touches to the all-new Vios include vents that direct air to the wheel wells, a trunk spoiler, and fins on the rear bumper. Exclusive exterior features for the range-topping G variant include 17-inch wheels, a gloss black finish for the front grille, and sequential turn indicators for the taillights.

Powering the car is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine that makes 106 hp (metric) and 138 Nm of torque. It is 1 hp and 2 Nm less than its predecessor as the Vios has been tuned for fuel efficiency. The Vios now record a fuel consumption of 5.2 l/100km. Paired with the engine is a new CVT with 7 virtual gears. Power is transmitted via a belt at low speeds and via gears at high speeds.
