Gallery: Kia EV6 GT Line AWD – 506 km range EV from RM301k



Launched in Malaysia in June this year, the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD turns heads wherever it goes, thanks to its rather unique styling. Selling at a price of RM300,668, it is only offered in one variant and shares the same underpinnings with the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Designed with the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, the EV6 combines sharp stylistic elements with smooth and sculptural shapes. A ‘Digital Tiger Face’ adorns its front end, and the side profile features a crossover-inspired aesthetic.

Measuring 4,695 mm long, 1,890 mm wide (excluding side mirrors), and 1,550 mm wide, the Kia EV6 is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Standard exterior equipment on the Kia EV6 GT Line includes dual LED projector headlights with LED daytime-running lights, 20-inch alloy wheels, a Smart powered tailgate, and Smart keyless entry.

Powering the Kia EV6 are two electric motors that provide an all-wheel drive system. Combined, the electric powertrain, makes 320 hp (metric) and 605 Nm, launching the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. Storing power in the Kia EV6 is a 77.4-kWh battery pack that provides 506 km of range (WLTP).

Recharging the Kia EV6 can be done with a maximum AC charging rate of 11 kW and a maximum DC fast charging rate of 350 kW. With 11-kW AC charging, the EV6 recharges from 10% to 100% in 7 hours and 20 minutes. With 150-kW DC Fast charging, the EV6 charges from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. As you may already know by now, the Kia EV6 also supports the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function at a rate of 3.6 kW.

Inside, the Kia EV6 boasts a cabin space “similar to many mid-size SUVs”. Highlights in the cabin include a curved display panel that consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging pad, a 14-speaker Meridian surround sound system, and powered front seats with relaxation mode.

As for safety, the all-electric Kia EV6 is offered with a full suite of advanced driver assistance technology that includes Autonomous emergency braking (forward, junction blind-spot, and rear-cross traffic), Smart Cruise Control (L2 semi-autonomous), Lane following and keeping assist, Blind-spot monitor, Driver attention warning, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Included in the price of the Kia EV6 are a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and a seven-year/150,000 km lithium-ion battery warranty. The Kia EV6 is fully imported (CBU) from Korea and is offered in one trim only for Malaysia.
