Gallery: All-new Toyota Corolla Altis – could it take on the Honda Civic?

Ahead of its official launch, UMW Toyota has made the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis available for viewing at Toyota dealerships. Pictured here is the range-topping G variant Toyota Corolla Altis in White Pearl CS.

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the new Corolla Altis promises better handling and stability through the corners. Based on our experience with the 2019 Toyota Camry and C-HR, we’re expecting nothing less from the new Corolla Altis.

The new Corolla Altis adopts Toyota’s new design language, looking more angular and aggressive compared to the last one. The Toyota emblem at the front is integrated into the top grille with a prominent V-shape. The headlights on the new Corolla Altis also reminds us a lot of the Camry, making it look a lot like a younger brother to the D-segment flagship from Toyota.

On the interior, Toyota has kitted the new Corolla Altis with several “quality-of-life” improvements. The instrument cluster has been updated to include a 7-inch color multi-information display, surrounded by Optitron meters on both sides for the tachometer, fuel and temperature gauges.

Toyota has also updated the climate control system to a dual-zone automatic air conditioning, with blowers for the rear passengers as well. Additionally, a wireless charger also makes an appearance on the new Toyota Corolla Altis.

On the G variant, the new Corolla Altis will come with full leather upholstery, as well as a 8-way power adjustable seats for the driver only.

The new Toyota Corolla Altis will also come with the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense – Toyota’s active driver assistance system – including Pre-collision System (automatic emergency braking), Automatic High-Beam Assist, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist and even Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Toyota has not made available the full specifications and official pricing yet, however estimated pricing of the new Toyota Corolla Altis will start at RM128,888 for the E variant., RM136,888 for the G variant is now available for booking at authorised Toyota dealerships.
