BMW Malaysia has launched the new 2026 BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro in Malaysia, as the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) BMW model to be locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia, and within the Asia Pacific region as well. The new 2026 BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro is priced at RM392,300 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the extended warranty and service package.
As a CKD model, the new BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro features subtle exterior differences, highlighted by the M Sport Pro exterior package that adds a new lip spoiler at the rear, alongside an extended Shadowline treatment that covers even the front grille surrounds. Otherwise, the rest of the model is identical to the outgoing fully imported i5 eDrive40 M Sport. Another notable addition is the return of the panoramic glass roof with the CKD model, as it was previously removed in the March 2024 update.

Inside, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro features a driver-oriented BMW Curved Display, which includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch segment for the centre infotainment display. This is complemented by the BMW Interaction Bar, complete with touch-sensitive controls and dynamic ambient lighting. Other interior equipment of the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro includes:

The new locally assembled BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro is powered by the same updated EV powertrain that was first introduced in Malaysia back in 2024. An electric motor on the rear axle produces 340 hp (250 kW) and 430 Nm with “Sport” mode and launch control engaged. These enable a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 193 km/h. In its normal drive mode, the powertrain of the i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro produces 313 hp and 400 Nm.
Juiced by an 83.9 kWh battery and featuring silicon carbide (SiC) converter upgrades, the new i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro boasts a range of up to 627 km (WLTP) on a full charge. This represents a 45 km increase in range compared to its 2023 predecessor.
Charging is supported via 22 kW AC, allowing a full charge (0-100%) in 4 hours and 15 minutes. DC charging is supported at 205 kW, enabling a 10-80% recharge in just 34 minutes.
For safety features, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro is equipped with BMW’s suite of ADAS features, which includes:

The new CKD 2026 BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro is available in five exterior colours. These are Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Brooklyn Grey Metallic, Phytonic Blue Metallic and Oxide Grey Metallic. The interior Merino genuine leather upholstery is available in Black or Atlas Grey.
The BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro is priced at RM392,300, inclusive of BMW’s Service and Repair package (BSRI), which features a five-year extended warranty and service package. Excluding the BSRI package, the sticker price of the i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro drops to RM368,800.
