2026 BMW iX1 eDrive20L pricing confirmed for Malaysia – RM268,600 with extended warranty package

Having made its preview in January this year, BMW Malaysia has now announced official pricing information for the BMW iX1 long-wheelbase (LWB) variant, which will retail in a sole eDrive20L variant at RM252,800 on-the-road without insurance, or RM268,600 with the extended five-year unlimited-mileage warranty and six-year maintenance package.

Despite its added dimensions, the BMW iX1 eDrive20L is priced just RM2,000 above the standard wheelbase variant, likely due to the more favourable tax structure due to it being imported from China rather than Germany.

Nevertheless, aside from the iX1L’s longer 110 mm wheelbase, both variants share the majority of their equipment list, including adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assistant, 3D full-LED taillights, automatic tailgate, and the two-tone 19-inch M light alloys in double-spoke Style 871M.

It also gets the same M sport kit as before, which includes sportier front and rear bumpers, but to set the LWB variant apart, it gets the extended Shadowline treatment that also darkens out the kidney grille surround and headlights.

Inside, the extended wheelbase on the iX1L allows for a 15 mm longer seat base at the rear, paired to softer seat foam for better comfort. All seats are covered by Veganza leatherette upholstery, with Castanea red being the only colour option, though they’re now paired to an Ivory White headliner for an airier atmosphere – ditto the new panoramic glassroof.

Otherwise, interior amenities here are identical to the standard wheelbase variant, and include a 10.25-inch instrument cluster display, a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, head-up display, M Sport steering wheel, powered front sports seats with memory function for the driver, dual-zone climate control system with rear vents, and a 12-speaker 205W Harman Kardon sound system.

The powertrain specifications are also unchanged from before, with a single motor in front making 204 hp (150 kW) and 250 Nm of torque. This translates to a century sprint in 8.6 seconds, onward to a top speed of 175 km/h – 5 km/h higher than the non-L eDrive20 variant, if that matters to you.

To suit its more family-friendly stature, though, the “Adaptive” frequency-selective dampers on the standard eDrive20 has been replaced by a “Comfort” suspension setup.

It’ll also be powered by the same 66.5 kWh (64.7 kWh usable) NMC battery pack as the non-L variant, although its range has now dropped to 433 km (WLTP) compared to 475 km on the standard-wheelbase eDrive20, presumably due to the extra weight.

Charging capabilities remain unchanged – DC fast charging is supported at up to 130 kW, taking 32 minutes to go from 10-80%, while AC charging will take around six hours and 45 minutes for a full charge at 11 kW.

For safety, the new BMW iX1 eDrive20L comes equipped with the full Driving Assistant Plus package, which includes adaptive cruise control with stop-go functionality, autonomous emergency braking, lane centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and rear collision auto braking, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive high beam.

The Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities are available as standard here, as opposed to requiring a subscription on the non-L eDrive20 variant.
