With an impressive 17,849 vehicles sold last year, representing a 153% year-on-year growth, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia is determined to keep up its momentum in 2026 with six new models planned across the entire year.
Reinforcing its position as one of the leading SUV brands in the country, having captured some 8% of the market share last year, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia will be kicking off the new year with the launch of the Jaecoo J5 in March.
The compact crossover made its first local appearance last year in August, initially estimated to be launched at an estimated price of RM120,000. While its launch timeline has been delayed, interested customers did not wait in vain as the company has announced a new lower expected starting price, alongside several early bird goodies.
Following up swiftly in the “early part of Q2” will be the Omoda C9 PHEV, estimated to be priced at RM220,000. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Omoda C9 D-segment SUV will be tasked with the important goal of upholding the company’s title as the best-selling PHEV brand here in Malaysia.

Q3 and Q4 2026 will both see the introduction of two new models. While Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia provided no details on what these models will be, the silhouettes on the presentation slide does give us a few hints.
We think the more upright models in Q3 could likely point at the Jaecoo J5 EV, which is now already available in Thailand and Indonesia, as well as the hybrid J5 SHS. The sleeker profile of the two models due in Q4 2026 could hint at the Jaecoo J8 PHEV, and potentially even the Omoda C7, which has also previously been shown off locally at Malaysia Autoshow 2025.
Aside from new cars, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia will also be “aggressively expanding” its sales and service network in 2026 to support its growing community of over 25,000 owners to date. The company expects to grow its network to 65 locations nationwide this year, up from 50 authorised dealerships in 2025, to ensure its sales and aftersales support remain easily accessible to customers across every major region in the country.
