Hyundai Staria 10-seater updated for 2026 in Malaysia – front middle seat replaced with centre console

The locally-assembled (CKD) Hyundai Staria 10-seater variant has received a cabin update for 2026, which will come at no added cost. As the first CKD model under the stewardship of Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), the futuristic “one-curve” MPV is priced from RM179,888 for the Style 10-seater and reaching RM267,888 for the range-topping Prestige seven-seater.

The latest update sees the middle seat in the first row between the driver and front passenger, which can be folded down to act as a storage tray, removed and replaced by a new floor console that features multiple storage and usability features, including a removable cupholder, a retractable cupholder, storage box, and a drawer tray.

There’s also a new 2+3+2+3 seating configuration, bringing it more in line with the setup found in the seven-seater Prestige variant, and introduces a more spacious cabin for the driver and front passenger.

Aside from this change, the rest of the interior of the Staria Style 10-seater remains the same, with standard kit being an eight-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an analogue instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-info display, six speakers, and a reverse camera.

On the Prime variant, this is upgraded to a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, alongside a 360-degree surround view monitor, while the Prestige 10-seater throws in a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an auto-dimming electrochromic rear-view mirror, a Qi wireless charging pad, and a smart tailgate that automatically opens hands-free when a key fob is detected nearby.

All variants of the Hyundai Staria are powered by the 2.2-litre CRDi turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that sends 177 hp and 430 Nm to the front-wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This setup enables 0-100 km/h in 12.4 seconds, with a top speed rated at 185 km/h.

Regarding safety systems, the 10-seater variants of the Hyundai Staria mostly miss out on the full ADAS suite, which is reserved for the top-range seven-seat Prestige variant. The entry-level Style variant only receives a door opening warning, while the mid-range Prime adds blind-spot cameras and a full 360-degree surround-view monitor.

As mentioned above, the Hyundai Staria starts from RM179,888. The price includes a standard HMY eight-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty. Exterior colour options are limited to Abyss Black Pearl and Creamy White.
