Alongside the BMW M3 Touring Competition, BMW Malaysia also launched the hardcore M2 CS locally, which can be yours priced from RM993,100 on-the-road without insurance and inclusive of the extended warranty package.
By the numbers, the BMW M2 CS makes 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque from its uprated 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this setup propels the M2 CS from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 302 km/h.

For comparison, this is a 70 hp and 100 Nm jump from the standard M2. The bad news is that the M2 CS is exclusively offered with the eight-speed slushbox, with no manual gearbox on offer. Bummer.
Still, the increased outputs on the M2 CS are thanks to improvements made to the 3.0-litre inline-six engine that are inspired by the BMW M4 GT3 Evo race car. These include an extremely rigid crankcase, a lightweight forged crankshaft, cylinder bores with a wire-arc sprayed iron coating, and a 3D-printed core for the cylinder head.
Paired with an M-specific exhaust system featuring electrically controlled flaps and quad tailpipes, this setup should make for an excellent soundtrack. Keeping everything under control is an M-Compound braking system, complete with the obligatory red callipers.
Further improvements have been made to the suspension, where the BMW M2 CS sits 8.0 mm lower than the standard M2. This is achieved through specific tuning for its springs, dampers, and chassis control systems, which BMW says are optimised precisely to meet the demands of driving on the racetrack.
To highlight its track credentials further, the M2 CS is equipped with track tyres on staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels, styled in the star-spoke Style 827 M design and finished in Gold Bronze.
Being a track-oriented car, the BMW M2 CS packs many parts made from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). These include the mirror caps, a CS-specific rear diffuser made from exposed carbon fibre, a matte black front splitter, a black BMW M kidney grille, the dashboard, and a lightweight CFRP tailgate with an integrated ducktail spoiler.
Altogether, these lightweight parts give the BMW M2 CS a weight reduction of 30 kg, making it the lightest iteration of the BMW M2 for the current generation.
Despite its track-focused nature, the M2 CS does not compromise on luxury. The driver and front passenger are nestled in weight-optimised, heated M Carbon bucket seats upholstered in Merino leather, offering a wide range of electric adjustments and an illuminated CS logo. For track days, the integrated head restraints can be removed to accommodate helmets, and the seats feature built-in mounting points for multi-point harnesses.

Other interior trimmings include an M Alcantara flat-bottomed steering wheel featuring a red centre marker at 12 o’clock, carbon fibre gearshift paddles, and twin M buttons to instantly select individually configured vehicle setups.
The BMW M2 CS is available in Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Velvet Blue, with interior upholstery available exclusively in ‘Merino’ Black with M Highlights.
Inclusive of the BSRI package, which includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and five-year or 100,000 km of service coverage, the BMW M2 CS is priced at RM993,100. Excluding the BSRI programme sees the sticker price of the M2 CS reduced to RM950,800, and you better be quick if you want one, because BMW says the M2 CS will be produced in limited numbers.
