New teaser of Jetour T2 – launching in Malaysia soon?

It looks like the Jetour T2 will be launched in Malaysia soon, according to a Facebook post from Jetour Auto Malaysia. The teaser visual with a car’s headlight signature is unmistakably the Jetour T2, which is a boxy off-roader with dimensions comparable to the GWM Tank 300.

The Jetour T2 is slated to make its Malaysia debut in Q4 2025. However, when the SUV was previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, Jetour Auto Malaysia did not reveal powertrain specifications, and the car on preview was a left-hand drive unit.

That being said, in China, the Jetour T2 is offered with conventional petrol and plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, both of which are turbocharged. Engine options include 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre mills.

Two internal combustion engine (ICE) variants are available. These include a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine producing 184 hp and 290 Nm that is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivers 254 hp and 390 Nm and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

For PHEV powertrains, you get a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired to a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). This setup utilises integrated electric motors to produce a combined output of 375 hp and 610 Nm.

Equipped with a 26.7 kWh battery pack, the PHEV variant has a pure EV range of 117 km (WLTC) and an impressively low fuel consumption of just 1.08 L/100km.

The interior of the Jetour T2 features a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver. Higher-spec variants add interior equipment that includes a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and a wireless phone charger.

Upon its Malaysian launch, the Jetour T2 is expected to arrive as a locally-assembled (CKD) model. It will be assembled at the company’s production facility in Tampoi, Johor Bahru, which was established in collaboration with Berjaya Assembly.

Given that its siblings, the Jetour VT9 and Dashing, are competitively priced in their segments, will the Jetour T2 be priced lower than the GWM Tank 300’s RM250,000 sticker price?
