Jetour T2 previewed at Malaysia Autoshow 2025 – Launching in Malaysia by Q4 2025

Alongside the launch of the Jetour VT9 in Malaysia, Jetour Auto Malaysia has also previewed the Jetour T2 and the fully electric (EV) Jetour eVT5 at its booth at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

Exterior-wise, the Jetour T2 presents a boxy off-road design, joining the ranks of boxy SUVs like the GWM Tank 300 and its cousins from iCaur, the iCaur 03. It measures 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, and 1,875 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, making the Jetour T2 comparable in size to the GWM Tank 300.

Jetour Malaysia did not disclose any powertrain specifications for the Jetour T2 previewed in Malaysia, which is a left-hand drive (LHD) model.

In its home market in China, the Jetour T2 is available with conventional petrol and plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. These include 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre mills, which are both turbocharged.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine produces 184 hp and 290 Nm and is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). As for the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, it delivers 254 hp and 390 Nm and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The PHEV setup combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) housing electric motors, resulting in a combined output of 375 hp and 610 Nm. This is paired with a 26.7 kWh battery pack, enabling a pure EV range of 117 km (WLTC) and a fuel consumption of just 1.08 L/100 km.

The Jetour T2’s interior features a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver. Higher-spec variants of the Jetour T2 add on other interior equipment, which includes a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and a wireless phone charger.

As Jetour Auto Malaysia previously indicated in our previous report, the T2 is expected to launch locally by Q4 2025. Given the competitive pricing of the Jetour Dashing and VT9, the Jetour T2 – if priced strategically – could become a strong contender against the GWM Tank 300. Of course, don’t expect the same off-roading capabilities, though, since it’s still built on a “conventional” monocoque chassis!
