Jetour, a sub-brand of Chery, just launched the Jetour Dashing about a month ago where it was well received for its competitive pricing relative to its size. Now, Jetour is back at it again with the launch of the Jetour VT9 at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.
The Jetour VT9 is a seven-seater D-segment SUV and is available in two variants: Comfort and Prime. With a starting price of just RM119,335, it’s priced only around RM10k more than the Dashing, which is a whole segment smaller.
Though it undercuts the Proton X90 in price, the VT9 is also slightly smaller in most dimensions. It adopts a distinct exterior design that sets it apart not only from the X90 but also from its smaller Jetour sibling.
The Jetour VT9 will most certainly command some attention with its large front grille. The black and red touches throughout the car give it a stealthy yet energetic vibe that leans toward a more enthusiastic look.

The interior of the VT9 looks rather familiar if you recall how the Dashing is laid out. It features dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Noteworthy standard features of the car include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, four USB ports, and 360-degree surround view parking assistance, just to name a few. The Prime variant adds several other features like a six-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, and more.

Powering the car is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 156 hp and 230 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Unfortunately, no performance figures regarding 0–100 km/h sprint times have been disclosed.
Prices for the Jetour VT9 start at RM119,335 for the Comfort variant (on-the-road, without insurance), while the Prime starts at RM124,350. Buyers will also receive five free services, a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, and a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty.
