The Jaecoo 6 has just launched in Thailand as a fully electric (EV) SUV, where it is available in three variants: Long Range 2WD Pro, Long Range 2WD, and Long Range 4WD. Prices for the Jaecoo 6 in Thailand range from THB899,000 (approx. RM117k) to THB1.149 million (approx. RM150k) and is fully imported (CBU) from China, Headlight Magazine reports.
The Defender-inspired model has already previously been confirmed for Malaysia, and it was even previewed in Malaysia as the Jaecoo J6 during the 2024 Malaysia Autoshow. But if you are expecting the model to launch in Malaysia as a Jaecoo model, things are about to get a little complicated.

As we previously reported, this EV SUV will instead be branded under another sub-brand of Chery, dubbed iCar (not affiliated with Apple… we’re pretty sure), and will be officially called the iCar 03 here in Malaysia. The iCar sub-brand is slated for a Malaysian debut sometime this year, with three EV and range-extender electric vehicle (REEV) models planned.
We’re not sure how the marketing folks at Chery can keep track of all the different names, or why the wide range of monikers, but we digress.

For context, the Jaecoo 6 measures 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, 1,715 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,715 mm, making it smaller than the Tank 300.
The Jaecoo 6’s exterior design is heavily inspired by the Land Rover Defender, featuring its signature boxy profile. Unique exterior styling elements include inverted “L” shaped matrix LED headlights, a row of horizontal slats for the front grille, and a quirky illuminated ‘i’ badge.

As for the interior, the Jaecoo 6 in Thailand features a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 9.2-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver, and an eight-speaker Pioneer sound system. Notably, the front seats are ventilated, and the 4WD variant also includes massaging front seats.
Powertrain-wise, the two-wheel drive variants are powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 184 hp and 220 Nm, propelling the SUV from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.
This is paired with a 65.69 kWh lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery pack, providing a range of 371 km (WLTP). Charging specifications include 6.6 kW AC charging, 80 kW DC charging, and 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) support.
The Long Range 4WD variant adds another electric motor on the front axle, increasing power to 279 hp and 385 Nm. This drops the century sprint time down to 6.5 seconds, while top speed remains at 150 km/h.
A slightly larger 69.77 kWh LFP battery pack is equipped on the 4WD variant, although its range is 364 km (WLTP), which is lower than the 2WD variants. The charging specifications are identical to the 2WD variant.
The 2WD variants come standard with four drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sports, and Custom. The AWD variants add five additional drive modes tailored for off-road use: All Road, Slippery, Beach, Muddy, and Bumpy.
