First batch of Jaecoo J7 PHEVs shipped to dealerships – Malaysia customer deliveries on track for Q1 2025

Jaecoo Malaysia has announced the commencement of deliveries for the recently launched 2025 Jaecoo J7 PHEV to Jaecoo dealerships nationwide, stating that it is on track to deliver the first batch to customers by Q1 2025.

“The arrival of the first units of the Jaecoo J7 PHEV at dealerships nationwide marks a major milestone for Jaecoo Malaysia and demonstrates our commitment to customers,” said Jaecoo Malaysia Vice President, Emily Lek.

“We are excited for Malaysians to experience the innovation and sophistication of the J7 PHEV firsthand. The Super Hybrid System (SHS), with its cutting-edge technology and exceptional performance, redefines Malaysia’s hybrid vehicle landscape driving innovation, paving the way for dynamic, competitive growth,” she added.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV was launched in Malaysia last month, at a price of RM158,800 on-the-road, without insurance. Externally, it looks almost identical to the petrol Jaecoo J7, apart from the different alloy wheel design, side mirrors, redesigned rear bumper and the addition of a charging flap on the right side of the J7 PHEV.

The main difference is, of course, underneath the bonnet. Powering the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is a 1.5-litre TGDi inline-four Deep Miller cycle engine making 143 hp and 215 Nm. This is paired to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) which houses an electric motor that makes 204 hp and 310 Nm.

Combined, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV output is 347 hp and 525 Nm driving the front wheels, which translates to a century sprint in 8.5 seconds.

Thanks to the ‘Super Hybrid System’, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV has a claimed NEDC range of 1,300 km and a pure electric (EV) range of 106 km (NEDC), courtesy of the rated fuel efficiency of 4.7L/100 km (NEDC).
