2025 Facelift Toyota Corolla GR Sport launched in Malaysia from RM150k

Along side the facelift GR Yaris, Toyota also launched the facelift Corolla GR Sport at the Sepang International Circuit in conjunction with the Season Finale of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival. It’s fully-imported from Thailand, from RM149,800.

Changes on the outside of the facelift Corolla GR Sport are subtle but noticeable. The front bumper now features larger air vents, stretching end to end. The front grille has also changed. It looks similar to the standard Corolla unlike before where the headlamps and grille were made to look like a single strip.

The headlamps have been given a smoked effect, while the 18-inch wheels are similar in design. The GR Sport can be had with dual-tone paint finishing for an even sportier look. At the rear, the Corolla GR Sports gets a rear boot spoiler, with a redesigned rear diffuser.

On the inside, the full leather seats in the previous model have been replaced with a mix of leather and suede. The steering, dashboard, gear lever boot, and seats are now finished with red stitching.

Like before you get a GR logo embossed on the headrests, GR carpets and a GR push start button. In the facelift Corolla GR Sport, you get the additional red seatbelt and GR logo on the steering. Ahead of the driver is a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster exclusively for the GR Sport and 1.8 G variant.

Charging can done via USB-C ports or a wireless charger. As for the infotainment system, the unchanged 9-inch touchscreen now comes with a new user interface.

The Corolla GR Sport is equipped with GR springs, GR dampers and anti-roll bar. It also gets a retuned power steering system. As it is built and focusses on good handling, output remains unchanged.

You get a 1.8-litre engine with 139 hp and 172 Nm of torque to drive the front wheels via a CVT gearbox with 10 virtual ratios instead of seven from before.

Nothing has changed on the aspect of safety. The Corolla GR Sport still comes with seven airbags, pre-collision system, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, automatic high beam, rear cross-traffic alert and a blind spot monitor.
