Lynk & Co has unveiled its largest model to date, the Lynk & Co 900. This three-row SUV is expected to go on sale in China in March 2025, according to CarNewsChina.
Built on the SPA Evo platform, the Lynk & Co 900 measures 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. This makes the Lynk & Co 900 similar in size to the Range Rover L460.
Even the exterior design of the Lynk & Co 900 is reminiscent of the Range Rover L460, with a mostly enclosed front end and an air intake grille on the lower part of the front bumper. A standout exterior feature is the side mirrors mounted on the front doors, which also feature concealed door handles.
Inside the Lynk & Co 900, a large 30-inch, 6K resolution floating display dominates the dashboard. Is this the start of a trend toward television-sized displays in cars? The driver gets a smaller 12.66-inch digital instrument cluster.
Rear passengers also enjoy a massive 30-inch display, along with amenities like a slide-out fridge accessible from the second row. Other creature comforts reportedly include dual wireless charging pads and numerous storage compartments located throughout the interior.
Buyers in China can choose from three plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The base PHEV system utilises a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and two electric motors, producing a combined output of 721 hp (530 kW).
The other two PHEV powertrains are based around a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. The variant with two electric motors delivers 734 hp (540 kW), while the variant with three electric motors delivers a staggering 856 hp (630 kW). Remember, this is a large three-row SUV, not a sleek supercar!
The Lynk & Co 900 reportedly has a top speed of 200 km/h and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds. Presumably, these figures are for the most powerful version with 856 hp. According to CarNewsChina, the Lynk & Co 900 will also feature “crab mode” and other quirky driving abilities, thanks to the Lynk & Co digital AI chassis.
While details about the Lynk & Co 900’s safety systems are limited, reports suggest that Nvidia Orin X or Thor chips will power its advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Images also indicate the presence of a LiDAR unit, hinting at potential autonomous driving capabilities.
