Perodua and Petronas has announced the signing of two new Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), which will see the two national companies collaborate on various services and offerings from both parties.
The first MoU, signed between Perodua Sales and Petronas Lubricants Marketing (PLMMSB), Mesra Retail and Cafe, and Setel Ventures (Setel), will see several new services integrated into Perodua service centres. These include the integration of Setel’s digital payment system into Perodua’s UFirst app, and the establishment of Mesra outlets for added convenience.
Additionally, the companies will also be setting up new Perodua service centres at selected Petronas fuel stations.
The second MoU, meanwhile, is signed between Perodua Sales and Gentari through Gentari Green Mobility. The partnership will see the latter setting up charging facilities at existing Perodua service centres, in view of Perodua’s upcoming move into the electric vehicle (EV) space, expected to happen sometime in 2025.
Additionally, the partnership will also spur the installation of more EV charging facilities at Petronas stations, as well as offering access to EV charging subscriptions and home charging solutions through the Gentari Go platform.

“Perodua Sales and PLMMSB have been partners for over 20 years and that partnership has proven mutually beneficial and we will further expand this partnership that will benefit our valued customers,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Gentari Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shah Yang Razalli added, “We welcome Perodua’s vision to launch an affordable EV by 2025. Gentari is excited to collaborate with Perodua in our effort to drive greater adoption of green mobility in Malaysia. By improving charging accessibility and convenience, Gentari aims to enhance the experience for future Perodua EV drivers, thus elevating customer satisfaction and building loyalty.”
Petronas has been the sole provider of all vehicle lubricants to Perodua since 2004. In line with the country’s shift towards green mobility, the companies have committed to further collaboration “for a stronger commitment on sustainability-driven practices”.
