The Toyota Fortuner is also included in UMW Toyota Motor’s bevy of model update announcements today, with the addition of a new Remote Engine Start feature that will come as standard here in Malaysia on the 2024 Fortuner 2.8 VRZ and 2.7 SRZ variants.
Additionally, the Toyota Fortuner 2.7 SRZ and 2.4 variants will also now be offered with an optional GR Bodykit, which includes a front bumper skirt, front fog lamp garnish, and rear bumper skirt. The optional item is priced at RM3,990 for those interested, but won’t be available on the 2.8 VRZ variant as the range-topper gets a different front fascia design.
Aside from these updated options and accessories, the rest of the 2024 Toyota Fortuner remains unchanged, including pricing here in Malaysia. The SUV starts at RM195,880 for the 2.4, moving up to RM202,880 on the 2.7 SRZ, and finally RM241,880 for the 2.8 VRZ.
Mechanicals are also unchanged, with the 2.4 variant powered by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine making 150 hp and 400 Nm; the 2.7 SRZ goes petrol with a 2.7-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder mill with 166 hp and 245 Nm, while the 2.8 VRZ gets a 2.8-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder making 204 hp and 500 Nm.
