Ahead of its launch in Malaysia, the XPeng G6 has now been introduced in Singapore with two variants on offer. Bookings for the Chinese EV is now open in the city state, with pricing starting from SGD209,999 (approx. RM725k) for the Standard Range variant, and SGD224,999 (approx. RM777k) for the Long Range, both prices are on-the-road inclusive of the VES rebates and COE prices.
For comparison, the Tesla Model Y is priced between SGD206k (approx. RM711K) and SGD253k (approx. RM873k) inclusive of COE.
Both variants of the Xpeng G6 in Singapore are rear-wheel drive only, although they do differ in outputs. The entry-level Standard Range variant packs 258 hp (190 kW) and 440 Nm, while the Long Range gets 286 hp (albeit with the same 440 Nm torque output), making it slightly quicker to complete 0-100 km/h at 6.2 seconds, compared to 6.6s on the Standard Range.
The Long Range, as its name suggests, also comes with a bigger 87.5 kWh NCM battery pack, giving it a driving range of 570 km (WLTP). The Standard Range meanwhile has a 66 kWh LFP battery pack for a range of 435 km.

Both cars come with an 11 kW on-board AC charger, and thanks to its 800 V electric architecture, the Xpeng G6 also support fast DC charging of 215 kW and 280 kW for the Standard Range and Long Range respectively, the latter able to recharge its larger battery in just under 20 minutes.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality is standard on both variants, capable of delivering up to 3.3 kW of power for your electrical appliances.
Equipment wise, both cars are pretty much identical, save for the powertrain differences, as well as the wheel designs – the Standard Range gets a set of 18-inch five-spoke alloys, while the range-topping Long Range comes with a larger set of 20-inch 10-spoke black-coloured wheels.
Otherwise, both variants of the XPeng G6 in Singapore will come with the same kit list, including things like the automatic LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, powered tailgate, a dual-zone climate control system with PM2.5 and pollen filters, ventilated front seats, two 50W wireless charging pads, as well as a 960W 18-speaker “Xopera” sound system.

As with all other modern EVs, almost everything is controlled via the 14.96-inch central touchscreen, powered by a Snapdragon 8155 processor. The driver does at least get a letterbox-style 10.2-inch display behind the steering wheel, and the infotainment display does also support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Xpeng’s Xpilot 2.5 advanced driver assistance suite is also included on both variants, powered by an Nvidia Orin-X chip to process data from the myriad of sensors peppered throughout the car. The suite includes features such as adaptive cruise control with turning support, lane centring assist, autonomous emergency braking, and automated parking among others.

Closer to home, the Xpeng G6 has already been spotted in Malaysia as recent as today. With its flagship showroom in Glenmarie Shah Alam nearing completion, and the registration of interest for the model now already open, it probably won’t be long before we see the SUV model launched here officially.
The EV market is getting crowded in Malaysia. The question, then, is if the Xpeng G6 has what it takes to compete against the Tesla Model Y. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
