The new XPeng X9 is based on a new 800V architecture. Depending on the variant, the Xpeng X9 offers two powertrains. The first features a front-mounted traction motor producing 319 hp (250 kW) and 450 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 8.2 seconds on the Standard Range variant, whereas the Long Range completes the century sprint in 7.75 seconds.
The AWD Performance adds a rear-axle traction motor for an all-wheel drive setup, bumping outputs to 503 hp and 640 Nm to slash the 0-100 km/h time to 5.9 seconds, though all three variants share a top speed of 200 km/h.
Likewise, two battery packs are available. The Standard Range variant employs a 94.8 kWh LFP battery to deliver a range of 535 km (WLTP), while the Long Range and AWD Performance variants step up to a larger 110 kWh NMC battery, enabling ranges of 615 km (WLTP) and 580 km (WLTP) respectively.
All three variants support 11 kW AC charging, requiring 9.5 hours to juice the Standard Range from 5-100% and 11 hours for the latter two. DC charging maxes out at 537 kW for the base model and 542 kW for the top two variants, with all three managing a 10-80% top-up in just 12 minutes.
For safety systems, the XPeng X9 is equipped with the marque’s Xpilot assist ADAS system, which is powered by an Nvidia XP5 Turing chipset with 700 TOPS of processing power. This in turn manages a suite of sensors which includes three millimetre wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, 12 cameras, and a high-precision positioning unit. These enable the following ADAS features:
