Hyundai has announced its upcoming 2025 model lineup, with one of them being the upcoming all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 3-row SUV. What’s confirmed is that the Ioniq 3-row SUV will be an all-new model and will be making its debut “later” in 2024. No official name has been given for this upcoming model just yet, although it has been referred to as the “Ioniq 7” in various forums.
This isn’t the first time Hyundai has talked about debuting a 3-row all-electric SUV. Back in 2021, the Korean carmaker introduced the Concept “Seven”, a large concept SUV with the tagline – Innovation for “Me time” and “Family time”, suggesting it is a family-oriented spacious SUV.

The Hyundai Concept “Seven” is said to sit on the brand’s E-GMP platform, with a 3,200 mm long wheelbase. This makes it a potential cousin to the Kia EV9. For context, the Kia EV9 is underpinned by a 3,100 mm long wheelbase.
If the Kia EV9 is to be any indication, the potentially named Hyundai “Ioniq 7” should be offered with at least a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain. Globally, the Kia EV9 is available with three powertrain options.

The three powertrains include the Standard Range variant, which sports a rear-mounted single-motor setup, making 215 hp, paired with a 76.1 kWh battery pack. The same motor can also be paired with a larger 99.8 kWh battery pack, giving the all-electric SUV an electric range of 541 km.
Also available with the Kia EV9 is the even more powerful dual-motor AWD powertrain that puts out 380 hp, which is offered here in Malaysia. Also mated to the same 99.8 kWh battery pack as the Longe Range RWD variant, the Malaysian-spec Kia EV9 is able to travel as far as 505 km (WLTP) on a single charge.
