Kia EV6 facelift teased – to debut in June with larger 84kWh battery?

Kia has just put out a teaser for the upcoming Kia EV6 facelift, which is expected to launch in June this year. This update will be released four years after the EV6 first made its debut.

At the front, the facelifted Kia EV6 is seen featuring redesigned headlights that are now more angular and sharper-looking than before. The shape of the new headlights also resembles the ones found on other all-electric Kia models, such as the EV9 and EV5.

Round the back, the Kia EV6 facelift looks pretty much similar to the existing model, with little to no changes made. Whether this observation is indeed true will be further proven as Kia fully uncovers the car in the near future.

Aside from just cosmetic changes, there are also rumours suggesting the updated Kia EV6 will feature a larger 84 kWh battery pack, replacing its current 77.4 kWh unit. This should result in improved range and even performance.

For context, the current Kia EV6 can travel as far as 506 km (WLTP) on a single charge with the 77.4 kWh battery pack. Earlier this year, the 84 kWh battery made its way onto the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 5 which made its debut in March. Both the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are built on the same Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Aside from giving us a glimpse of what its upcoming EV6 facelift looks like, the Korean carmaker has yet to provide further details about the car just yet. However, we can expect more to come down the road, ahead of the all-electric crossover’s debut in June this year.
