Together with the introduction of the “extreme” Toyota Hilux GR Sport Wide Tread in Thailand, the 2024 Toyota Hilux Revo Rocco update (MY2024) has also been launched in Thailand, introducing several improvements. According to Thai media, the price of the Hilux has also seen a slight bump with this update.
The 2024 updates for the Toyota Hilux in Thailand include:
- New, larger 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit
- Wireless phone charger
- Sharper 4.2-inch TFT gauge display
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- Engine improved to comply with Euro 5 exhaust emission standards and increased diesel particulate filter
The 2024 update for the Thai-spec Toyota Hilux Revo Rocco also adds dual-zone climate control although the Malaysian-spec 2.8L Rogue, 2.4L V, and 2.8L GR Sport are already equipped with it. We could expect the updates seen on the Thai-spec 2024 Hilux Revo Rocco to find their way into the Malaysian-spec 2.8L Rogue and 2.4L V variants of the Hilux soon.
The Hilux Revo Rocco in Thailand is available in 4 configurations:
- Hilux Revo Rocco Smart Cab 2.4 6AT 4×2
- Hilux Revo Rocco Smart Cab 2.8 6AT 4×2
- Hilux Revo Rocco Double Cab 2.4 6AT 4×2
- Hilux Revo Rocco Double Cab 2.8 6AT 4×4
On the outside, the 2024 Toyota Hilux looks identical to our Rogue Hilux. It still sports the same 18-inch alloy wheels, although the Thai-spec Hilux sits on a set of all-terrain tyres from Dunlop. Its 2.8L turbodiesel engine’s performance remains the same at 204 hp (metric) and 500 Nm. The same is true for the 2.4L turbodiesel engine that still makes 150 hp (metric) and 400 Nm.
Despite the same engine performance figures, it is reported that the engines have been improved to comply with Euro 5 exhaust emission standards. The same 6-speed automatic transmission is in use and depending on the variant, the Hilux Revo Rocco can be a 4×4 or a 4×2.
Inside, the new additions to the Hilux include the new larger 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit. Previously 9 inches in size, the larger screen also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 4.2-inch TFT display has also been improved in terms of sharpness.
Safety equipment remains the same with the 2024 Hilux equipped with 7 airbags, DRCC variable cruise control, and a pre-collision safety system. It also gets a hill start assist system, an emergency launch protection system, and a lane departure warning system.
