Gallery: 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus – what does a RM116k entry-level SUV offer?



Bermaz Motor launched the newly updated 2023 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia late last year. The SUV is offered in three variants, namely the 1.5L Plus, 2.0L Plus, and the 2.0L High. With the former two variants replacing the 1.5L and 2.0L Core of the previous iteration CX-3. Pictured here is the entry-level Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus, which can be yours at RM115,720 (OTR, without insurance).

On the outside, the 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus is now fitted with standard features such as automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRL), LED rear lights, and rear fog lights. Also included are the automatic folding side mirrors, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors, and 16-inch single-tone alloy wheels.

Exterior colour options available with the 2023 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia include Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Soul Red Crystal, and Platinum Quartz which is only available for the 2.0L High variant, as well as a newly added colour – Aero Gray. The CX-3 pictured here is wearing the Soul Red Crystal colour option.

Powering the 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus in Malaysia is the brand’s 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated SkyActiv engine that makes 114 hp and 149 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic gearbox, power is sent to the front wheels only.

Inside, the Malaysian-spec 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus is equipped with standard features such as an 8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display that now supports wireless Apple CarPlay, on top of Android Auto, along with fabric seats and a 6-speaker audio system. Also included is a leather multifunction steering wheel that comes with paddle shifters.

On the safety side of things, the 2023 Mazda CX-3 1.5L Plus in Malaysia comes with six airbags, along with Mazda’s i-Activsense advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This comprises features such as high beam control (HBC), blind spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), lane departure warning system (LDWS), and smart city brake support (SCBS). Oddly, the CX-3 does not come with adaptive cruise control (ACC), even with the top-spec 2.0L High variant.

Included with the Mazda CX-3’s price tag is a standard 5-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, along. There is also a 5-year/100,000 km free maintenance package according to the manufacturer’s standards and is inclusive of labour, parts, and lubricants.
